WIWT: Christmas Break 2015

This year’s winter break brought warm fog, rekindled friendships, and free Starbucks. For my week home in New Jersey, I brought a carry-on suitcase stuffed with presents and a month’s worth of laundry. To keep my travel load light, I needed to stick to the holiday wardrobe essentials.

Earlier this week, I went to a holiday party with some old high school friends, and “dressing to impress” was expected. I paired my new, Stuart Weitzman, to-the-knee boots with a simple, navy sweater dress and patterned tights. Since the North Atlantic coast was a brisk 72 degrees all week, I didn’t need to worry about an overcoat or bulky scarf—a simple necklace from the bae was the only accessory I needed.

For Christmas Eve with all of the aunts and uncles, I paired my favorite high-waisted black pants with a sparkly vintage top I got a few months ago from a secondhand store. A pair of simple heels and sheer red lipstick made me chic and confident to happily answer questions like, “So what’s going on with you?”over Christmas cookies.

On Christmas day, my family goes to Mass and enjoys a nice breakfast together at home. After around 1pm, I am free to catch up on prerecorded Christmas specials and veg out on Chinese food. My outfit needs to be cute for church and comfy for couch. My outfit includes a soft cardigan, a blouse with enough red to be considered festive (right??), and the same black pants as the day before.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has read my blog and supported me this year. I wish all of my readers have happy holidays, a healthy new year. Here’s to 2016!
