Under the Hood

It looks like Little Red Riding Hood had the last laugh with the big bad wolf this winter. Despite PETA's efforts against Canada Goose, fur lined hoods on puffer coats is the must have outer layer this February. Fur lined hoods have been around as long as I can remember-- I even had a black puffer with brown fur from JC Penny in high school-- but this look uses real fur (or faux) with hairs up to 5 inches long. The long hairs create movement during leaps over slush puddles and gusts of wind, and nicely frames the frost-bitten face.

In 2014, Fendi fur monsters were the accessory to have. In 2015, the balls of fluff were spotted on top of beanies just in time for fall. By 2016, fur was covering the collars of women's long wool coats, and in 2017, fur has framed the faces of New York's elite. Where will fur be for 2018?
