I have a confession: I was born and raised in a Fake Tree Household. My family hosts a large Christmas Eve family party, so the pre-lit, plastic tree is one less thing we have to worry about during the holiday crazies. But since I am home for the holidays this year I took a stroll through my local tree farm-- it snowed last weekend so the scene looked picture perfect.
I wanted to show you an unconventional way to wear a holiday sweater to give you some inspiration for the last few days before the 25th. The oversize holiday sweater is typically paired with black leggings or dark skinny jeans and a red lip, but I know this vintage Ralph Lauren sweater needed something more.
I always like how button-ups look under sweaters in the winter, so this striped button-up from Madewell was an easy pairing. Tucking the sweater into high-waisted pants create a new and unexpected silhouette, and tall socks loafers stand out against a sea of black ankle boots.
