It's a Nice Day for a White Winter

Head-to-toe black is always an easy outfit formula in the winter, but nothing stands out (or blends in, haha) quite like an all white look. By now we have established that is perfectly acceptable to wear white after Labor day, and back in September I showed you how to make your white jeans wearable after your last beach weekend. Of course you can wear any color any time of the year, but wearing a white outfit in the winter comes with new parameters.

Because cold weather requires layering, it is important to keep a monochromatic outfit simple but textured so you don't blend in with the snow. Today I am wearing a soft cashmere sweater with heavy denim and a tailored cardigan. The different fabrics and tones compliment each other without looking too matchy-matchy, and the overall look is both cozy and chic. Accessorizing an all white outfit with a pop of color in shoes (or jewelry or a bag) is an easy way to take your outfit next level and avoid looking too out of season-- although white boots are totally on trend this year.
